Hyojin Jun was born in Seoul, South Korea, and completed her bachelor's degree at Seoul National University with Prof. Younguck Kim. She then continued her master's studies at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin with Prof. Eva-Christina Schönweiß, which she completed in 2022.
She has been studying for her concertmaster/solo master's degree since 2023. From 2021 to 2022, she was a scholarship holder at the DSO's Ferenc Fricsay Academy, and since 2023 she has been a permanent member of the DSO Berlin's second violin section and a scholarship holder of Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Berlin e.V.
She is a prizewinner of international competitions, including the International France, Clara Schumann, Moscow, Nouvelles Etoiles, Franz Schubert International, KBS & Kepco, Dong-A, and Korea Herald Competitions, and was also a finalist in the Ysaye International Violin Competition. Since then, she has regularly performed as a soloist with numerous national orchestras and given solo recitals both in and outside of South Korea. She has also been invited to the Blue House, the residence of the Korean President, and has appeared on KBS television.
During her school years, she received the Achievement Award. She has also served as concertmaster or principal in numerous orchestras in her home country. She has participated in master classes with Gerhard Schulz, Giovanni Antonini, Mark Gothoni, Ulf Wallin, Antje Weithaas, Josef Sabaini, Ik Whan Bae, Lucie Robert, Sergey Kravchenko, Zakahr Bron, and Nachum Erlich.
