INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR COMPETITION

PIANO | VIOLIN | VIOLA | CELLO

ArsClassica International Junior Competition is open to very young musical talents from all over the world. The goal of the competition is to support the early talent giving young musicians the opportunity to express their potential through dedicated concerts and recitals as well as professional audio and video recordings.

RULES & REGULATIONS OF THE ARSCLASSICA INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION JUNIOR

1. ORGANIZATION

The competition takes place entirely online.

2. CONTESTANTS

​

The ArsClassica International Junior Competition is open to young musicians of all nationalities and countries aged between 10 and 17 in the following disciplines: Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello.

3. JURY

​

The Jury of ArsClassica International Junior Competition is composed by ArsClassica's founders and the most distinguished members of the association, internationally renowned musicians and performing artists. The Jury is chaired by ArsClassica and VideoClassica founders, classical music audio and video producers:

  • Paolo Giacomini - Chairman of the Jury - Chairman of ArsClassica Association - Classical music video director

  • Malgorzata Maria Petryla - Deputy Chairman of the Jury - Deputy Chairman of ArsClassica Association - Classical music producer

The other components of the Jury are chosen by the Chairman. The Jury members can vary from time to time.

The contestants will be selected and judged based only on the submitted video recordings.

The Jury decisions are final and irrevocable. The competitors have no right to present any objections against the composition and the decisions of the Jury.

 

4. REPERTOIRE

​

The repertoire requested for the participation in the competition is free*. The performances can be solo or with accompaniment.

The submitted recordings should not exceed the duration of 15 minutes.

The repertoire for the concert and for the recordings produced by ArsClassica as part of the prize of the Competition is chosen by the winners in agreement with ArsClassica.

* The specific pieces of the repertoire presented to the Jury of the competition are chosen freely by the competitors according to the requirements. It is up to the competitors to choose a repertoire (one piece or more) that fully represents their artistic, technical and expressive potential.

The suggested repertoire for the contestants who want to compete for the Prodigy Prize includes: at least one movement of a violin/viola/cello/piano concerto or sonata written in the Classical, Romantic or Contemporary period and/or any virtuoso piece solo or with accompaniment from Romantic to Contemporary period.

5. VIDEO RECORDINGS

​

The candidates are selected and judged based only on the submitted video recordings. The videos have to be a live recording without editing.

The videos should be recorded no more than 6 months before the date of your submission.

Videos should be available for watching and sharing online.

The best performances will be published and shared on ArsClassica's and VideoClassica's web and social channels.

6. APPLICATION

​

The submission to ArsClassica International Junior Competition is to be done exclusively through the online Application Form.

By participating in ArsClassica International Junior Competition and by accepting its rules, the applicants, or whoever in their stead, automatically:

  • become ArsClassica's members for a period of one year

  • disown the right for any material (financial) remuneration regarding eventual publication and distribution of their music and video recordings through Internet or other sources

  • consent the use, publication and sharing of the submitted videos and pictures on ArsClassica's and VideoClassica's web and social channels

  • consent the publication, streaming or broadcasting of the audio and video recordings or photographs produced by ArsClassica as part of the Prize of the Competition and the concert and assign the copyright of their performances to ArsClassica

  • accept the Privacy Policy 

7. REGISTRATION FEE

​

The registration fee is 80 € for each participant. The payment of the registration fee can be made via PayPal following the correct completion of the Application Form online or by bank transfer to:

Applications without the payment of the registration fee will not be valid.

The registration fee is not refundable.

By submitting the registration fee, the participants, or whoever in their stead, become members of ArsClassica Association for a period of one year.

8. COMPETITION STAGES

​

ArsClassica International Junior Competition is organized in the following stages:

​

  • FIRST STAGE: Among all the applicants, the Jury will select maximum 24 candidates that will compete for the main prizes. The selection is based on the video recordings submitted via the Application Form. The names of the competitors will be announced on ArsClassica's web and social channels by 16th January 2024.

  • FINAL STAGE: The Jury will select 12 candidates. The selected candidates will be asked to submit another video of a maximum duration of 15 minutes. The names of the candidates admitted to the FINAL STAGE and the videos of their performances will be announced and shared on ArsClassica's and VideoClassica's web and social channels by 20th January 2024.

  • WINNERS ANNOUNCEMENT: The names of the winners and the videos of their performances will be announced and shared on ArsClassica's and VideoClassica's web and social channels by 15th February 2024. The Jury will assign 4 prizes: The Prodigy Prize, 1° Prize, 2° Prize and 3° Prize. The announcement of the winners of the ArsClassica International Junior Competition will be online on ArsClassica's and VideoClassica's web and social channels.

9. PRIZE

​

ArsClassica International Junior Competition assigns 4 prizes:

​

  • PRODIGY PRIZE: The winner of the Prodigy Prize will be awarded high quality audio and video recordings of a solo piece of a value of 10.000 €. The video and the audio recordings will be published and streamed on ArsClassica and VideoClassica channels. The winner will also perform in at least one concert in Rome. ArsClassica will provide the piano accompaniment for the concerts.*

  • 1° PRIZE: The winner of the 1st Prize will be awarded a scholarship worth € 500 for participation in a masterclass of their choice or for participation in an ArsClassica Masterclass of equal value.*

  • 2° PRIZE: The winner of the 2nd Prize will be awarded a scholarship worth € 300 for participation in a masterclass of their choice or for participation in an ArsClassica Masterclass of equal value.*

  • 3° PRIZE: The winner of the 3rd Prize will be awarded a scholarship worth € 200 for participation in a masterclass of their choice or for participation in an ArsClassica Masterclass of equal value.*

*In case of exequo prizes the value of the award will be equally divided.

All the participants of the ArsClassica International Junior Competition 2024 will receive a Certificate of participation. All the prize winners will receive a Diploma.

ArsClassica will provide accommodation for the Prodigy Prize winners during the recordings and the concerts.

ArsClassica does not cover the travel expenses of the prize winners nor the travel and accommodation expenses of the prize winners' companions (parents, guardians or relatives).

The date of the recordings will be established according to the availability of the musicians.

The winners consent the publication and streaming of the audio and video recordings produced by ArsClassica and assign the copyright of their performances to ArsClassica.

ArsClassica reserves the right not to assign the main Prize or one of the Prizes or to postpone the date of the Competition, if the quality standards of the candidates are not met.

The Prodigy Prize (concert and recordings) will be organized by the ArsClassica Association within one year from the announcement of the winners. Failure to participate in the event for any reason will be considered as a waiver of the prize by the winner. If the winner is unable to participate in any event proposed by the Association, after the period of one year from the end of the competition, ArsClassica will be relieved of any obligation to award the prize.

10. COPYRIGHT

​

Participants of ArsClassica International Junior Competition, or whoever in their stead, transfer free of charge and without time limits to Associazione ArsClassica their property rights of the artistic performances audio and video recorded as part of the Prize of the competition and the Gala Concert, in the context of:

  • recording

  • marketing

  • online streaming and sharing

  • wireless, cable and satellite broadcasting and re-broadcasting

11. ACCEPTANCE OF RULES AND CONDITIONS

​

By applying to ArsClassica International Competition, participants, or whoever in their stead, automatically accept all the conditions and the regulations of ArsClassica International Competition.
