Hu Sophie was born in a musical family in Vienna in 2013. She began to learn piano from her mother Wang Yang at the age of 3, and began to learn violin from Professor Hanna Melnyk at the age of 4. In August 2019, she won the 1st prize in the violin group I of the ‘CIMA Music Competition’ in Vienna. In February 2022, she won the 1st prize in the violin group B of the ‘prima la musica’ music competition in Austria. In July 2022, she won the Grand Prize of Violin Group A in the International Music Competition ‘Villafranca VR city’ in Italy. In January 2023, she was admitted to the course for highly gifted children of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and began to learn violin from Professor Anna Gutowska.
