Emma Lu is 11 years old and have played piano for 7 years. Emma has won 1st place in several state and regional piano competitions. For example, she has won the first place of the Northwestern University Piano Festival competition in Minnesota in 2023. She was the youngest in her age category. Emma passed the level 10 comprehensive piano exam with an exceptional award at age 7, which makes her the youngest pianist who has passed the level 10 exam in Minnesota history. Emma is also a talented composer. Her composed pieces have won the first place in the West Central region of the 2022 Music Teacher National Association composing competition, and she has won the first place in the 2021 and 2022 Junior Composing Contest of the National Federation of Music Clubs.
