Suryeon began her musical path as a young choir singer on national stages in South Korea, appearing in CD and television productions, before dedicating herself fully to the piano at the age of fifteen. After completing piano studies in Seoul and Dresden, she finished her Master’s degree in Art Song Performance at the HMTM Hannover in 2025, where she engaged deeply with contemporary song repertoire and refined her own artistic concepts. She is now beginning the Meisterklasse for Piano Chamber Music atthe HMT Leipzig.
As a soloist and song pianist, she performs at international festivals and concert series including the Musikverein Vienna and Graz, Porto Pianofest, Kassel Heritage Festival, Cluj Musical Autumn Festival, and the Palais Sommer Dresden. In 2023 she took part in a Deutschlandfunk radio production for the Radio Festival. Her artistic independence was recognized in 2025 with the Music Prize for Startup Musicians ofthe Börsenclub Hannover.
Her artistic work has been honored multiple times – including prizes at the Oeiras International Piano Competition (2nd Prize, 1st prize not assigned), the Paula-Salomon-Lindberg Competition “Das Lied,
”(2nd Prize, 1st prize not assigned and Piano Prize), the competition “Franz Schubert and Modern Music.”(2nd Prize and the Stacey Bartsch Memorial Prize for the best interpretation of a Schubert Lied), Livorno International Piano Competition (5th Prize and Young Jury Prize) and Concours International de Chant-Piano Nadia et Lili Boulanger (Prix de lied).
