Born in 2001 in Taiwan, Yun Ho began playing the cello at the age of eight and made his solo debut with orchestra at fourteen. He is currently studying at the Lübeck Academy of Music in the class of Gabriel Schwabe. He earned his bachelor’s degree at the Dresden University of Music, where he studied with Ramón Jaffé and Valentin Radutiu. He is also a student of Kirill Rodin.

He has received artistic guidance in masterclasses with renowned musicians including Mischa Maisky, David Geringas, Miklós Perényi, Gustav Rivinius, Jan Vogler, Maximilian Hornung, Mark Schumann, Natalie Clein, and Philippe Muller, as well as with the Kuss Quartet and the Schumann Quartet.

Yun Ho is a prizewinner of numerous international competitions, including the Echo Arts Prize 2024 in Munich, Second Prize at the Clara Schumann International Competition 2021 in Brussels, Third Prize at the Primuz International String Competition 2021 in Poland, Second Prize at the New Jersey Sinfonietta International Competition, and First Prize along with two special awards at the Nanying International Cello Festival & Competition.

As a soloist, he has performed with the Cervo Chamber Orchestra, the Eurasia Chamber Orchestra, and the Caozhong Symphony Orchestra. He has participated in prestigious festivals such as the Kronberg Academy (Philippe Muller class), the Cello Akademie Rutesheim, the Dresden Music Festival (Cellomania 2.0), the Moritzburg Festival, the Ludwigsburg Festival, the Walter Stauffer Academy, and the Interlaken Classic Festival.

In October 2022, he was invited by Jan Vogler to the Moritzburg Festival, where he recorded for Sony Classical and performed at the Kulturpalast Dresden. In May 2023, he took part in the #Citylights tour in Germany with internationally renowned violinist Lisa Batiashvili and the Georgian Chamber Orchestra. That same year, he won Second Prize at the New Jersey Sinfonietta International Competition, followed by a winners’ concert at the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg and a scholarship.

In July 2024, he received the Echo Arts Prize, awarded by the Schumann Quartet, which included a bow by violin maker Christoph Collinet.
