Boyoung Kim is currently attending the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna studying for her Postgraduate Certificate. She previously studied at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and Seoul National University College of Music. She studied with Christopher Hinterhuber, Arnaldo Cohen, Hee Sung Joo, Jennifer Lim & Sook Ryeon Park. She made her debut performance at the Seoul Arts Center Recital Hall at the age of 12.

Prize winner in numerous competitions such as The 17th Hong Kong-Asia Open Piano Competition - 1st Prize; Estonian National Academy of Music and Theatre Competition - 1st Prize; Indianapolis Matinee Musicale Collegiate Competition - 2nd Prize; The 13th Korea Chopin Competition - 2nd Prize; The 37th Busan Music Concours - 3rd Prize; Gegen den Strom Piano Festival & Competition - 3rd Prize & Audience Prize; National Society of Arts and Letters Competition - Special Prize (The Hegarty Award).

She performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras including Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Guri Philharmonic Orchestra, the USP Orchestra, the Indiana University Student Orchestra in addition to numerous solo recitals and chamber music concerts at the Landmarks Center Grand Hall, Simon Music Center Auer Hall, Ford-Crawford Hall, Salon de Musique, Mozart Hall, Ilshin Hall, Seongnam Arts Center, TLI Arts Center, Sejong Center, Kumho Art Hall and the Seoul Arts Center.
